Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how The Ven Group handles information through its website, VenDarts and VenDarts Online.
Effective: 29 August 2026
1. About this policy
This policy applies to The Ven Group website and products and services operated by The Ven Group, including VenDarts and VenDarts Online.
Different products use different types of information. For example, the standard VenDarts app primarily operates on the user's own device, while VenDarts Online requires online infrastructure to provide multiplayer functionality.
2. Website enquiries
If you submit a contact or project enquiry through The Ven Group website, we receive the information you choose to provide.
This may include:
- your name;
- email address;
- company or organisation;
- project type;
- budget range;
- timescale;
- project description;
- any other information included in your message.
This information is used to respond to your enquiry, discuss requested work and maintain appropriate business records.
3. How long website enquiry information is kept
Enquiry information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to the enquiry, manage a potential or active business relationship, meet legal or accounting obligations, or resolve disputes.
Information that is no longer required should be deleted or securely disposed of.
4. Website hosting and technical information
The Ven Group website is hosted by a third-party hosting provider.
Standard hosting and server logs may process technical information such as:
- IP address;
- browser and device information;
- requested pages;
- timestamps;
- technical errors;
- security-related information.
5. VenDarts
VenDarts is a darts scoring, career and party-game application.
Gameplay information, player names, app settings, statistics and other information required for VenDarts features may be stored locally on the user's device.
Some VenDarts functionality may use device permissions or local-network access where required by the selected feature.
6. VenDarts advertising
VenDarts may use Google AdMob to provide advertising.
Google and its advertising partners may process information such as device identifiers, IP address, device information, advertising interactions and consent choices for purposes including advertising, measurement, fraud prevention and security.
Advertising and consent options available to you may depend on your device, operating system, location and the choices you make.
7. VenDarts purchases
In-app purchases are processed by the relevant app-store provider, such as Apple or Google.
The Ven Group does not receive your full payment-card details for purchases processed through those stores.
The app may receive information necessary to determine whether a purchase or entitlement is valid and which features should be available to you.
8. VenDarts TV Mode
VenDarts TV Mode may use local-network access to display match and scoreboard information on another compatible device or browser connected to the same network.
Local-network functionality is used to provide the requested display feature and does not by itself mean that your match is publicly available on the internet.
9. VenDarts Online
VenDarts Online is an online multiplayer darts service.
Unlike the standard VenDarts app, online multiplayer requires information to be transmitted and processed using online infrastructure so that players can find, create, join and participate in matches.
Information processed by VenDarts Online may include information associated with players, rooms, matches, scores, match settings and technical connection data where required to provide the service.
10. VenDarts Online player identifiers
VenDarts Online may use a unique technical identifier for a player or installation so that multiplayer information can be linked to the correct participant.
This identifier may be generated or managed using online authentication infrastructure.
VenDarts Online may use authentication even where the player is not required to enter a traditional email address and password.
11. VenDarts Online room and match data
VenDarts Online may process and store information required to operate online rooms and matches.
Depending on the match and available features, this may include:
- room or match identifiers;
- player identifiers;
- player display information;
- match format and game type;
- scores and visits;
- match state;
- match results;
- timestamps;
- technical information needed to coordinate the online match.
This information is used to run the match, maintain the correct game state and support functionality such as match history, statistics, troubleshooting and future fair-play features where available.
12. Completed match information
Genuine completed VenDarts Online matches may be retained after the match has ended.
Retaining match information can support player history, statistics, service integrity, troubleshooting and the continued development of VenDarts Online.
Information that is only required temporarily to establish an online connection does not necessarily need to be retained for the same period as genuine match information.
13. Camera and microphone
VenDarts Online may request permission to use your device camera and microphone for live online matches.
Camera and microphone access is used so players can see and communicate with one another while playing remotely.
Your operating system controls whether you grant those permissions.
Technical information may still be processed to establish and maintain the live connection. This technical connection information is different from storing the actual camera or microphone media.
14. What other players can see and hear
When you enable camera or microphone access during a VenDarts Online match, the other participant may be able to see or hear the information you intentionally or accidentally place within range of your device.
You should take reasonable care not to expose personal information, documents, addresses, screens, conversations or other information that you do not want your opponent to see or hear.
15. Matchmaking and nine-dart average
VenDarts Online may process player-performance information, including a nine-dart average, to help understand playing level and support matchmaking.
Where this information is used, it may be associated with the player's technical identifier or profile.
16. Reports, blocking and moderation
VenDarts Online is being developed with player-safety, reporting, blocking and moderation functionality.
Where these features are available, information may be processed in order to investigate or respond to reports, enforce Community Rules, manage player blocks and protect the service and its users.
This could include player identifiers, the identities of the players involved, relevant match information, the category and reason for a report, timestamps, moderation decisions and related account status information.
17. Support and troubleshooting
If you contact The Ven Group for support, we may receive information that you provide about yourself, your device, the issue you are experiencing and the relevant match or service.
Where reasonably necessary, technical or match information may be reviewed to diagnose a problem, investigate a service issue or respond to your request.
18. Firebase and online infrastructure
VenDarts Online uses Google Firebase services as part of its online infrastructure.
Firebase may process technical and service information required to provide functionality such as authentication and online data storage.
Information processed through these services may be handled by Google in accordance with applicable Google and Firebase terms and privacy documentation.
19. Other third-party services
The Ven Group's products may rely on services provided by organisations including Apple, Google, Firebase, Google AdMob, app-store providers and hosting or infrastructure providers.
Those organisations may process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
20. Why information is used
Depending on the product or service, information may be used to:
- provide requested website or app features;
- create and operate online rooms and matches;
- connect players;
- maintain scores and match state;
- provide statistics and match history;
- provide support and troubleshoot problems;
- maintain service security and integrity;
- operate advertising where applicable;
- verify purchases or entitlements;
- respond to enquiries;
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
21. Data retention
Different types of information may be kept for different periods depending on why the information is required.
For example, temporary connection information, active match information, completed match history, support information and business enquiries may each have different operational requirements.
The Ven Group aims not to retain personal information for longer than reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it is processed, subject to legitimate operational, security and legal requirements.
22. Security
The Ven Group takes reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect systems and information used by its services.
However, no internet service, device, wireless connection or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users should also take reasonable steps to protect their devices and avoid sharing information they do not want other online players to see or hear.
23. Your choices and rights
You can manage device permissions such as camera, microphone and local-network access through your device settings.
Where advertising consent or privacy choices are provided, you can use those controls to make the available selections.
Depending on your location and applicable data protection law, you may also have rights in relation to personal information held about you, including rights to request access, correction or deletion in certain circumstances.
You can contact The Ven Group regarding a privacy request using the contact details available on this website.
24. Children's privacy
VenDarts and VenDarts Online are darts-related services and may involve communication with other users, device camera access and microphone access depending on the features being used.
Parents and guardians should consider whether online multiplayer functionality is appropriate for a child and supervise device permissions and online interactions where necessary.
25. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when The Ven Group introduces new websites, apps, online services, accounts, cloud features, analytics, moderation tools or other functionality.
The effective date shown at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
26. Contact
If you have a privacy question or want to contact The Ven Group about information relating to you, please use the contact or support pages on this website.
